High quality rudraksha beads are well worth the investment. Lesser quality beads do not have nearly the shakti (energy and power) as do the highest quality beads. Rudraksha beads are like herbs in this regard. Lower grade herbs are like straw. They have very little substance. High grade herbs are like concentrated nectar. They nourish the essence of one's physiology.

The question has been asked about wearing beads while sleeping. This is discouraged because one releases a lot of stress while sleeping and it would be a shame to "gunk up" these exquisite beads that way. For this purpose, or for a "second strand" for everyday use we offer a more affordable strand (12 mm) that still has quite a bit of shakti.

It is very good for women to have rudraksha beads but not so good for women to wear the beads. The beads should be placed on the alter or next to them while meditating.  Smaller beads, which have a more refined energy, are preferred for women.
